9240si Loop Controller User Manual ^hot^
The Turck 9240si (BL ident) is a modular RFID loop controller used for industrial identification systems. Because official user manuals are often locked behind manufacturer portals or are lengthy PDFs, I have compiled a condensed operational guide below.
This guide covers the hardware setup, wiring, LED diagnostics, and configuration steps you need to get the system running. 9240si loop controller user manual
11. Maintenance & Calibration
The 9240SI requires no routine maintenance aside from terminal torque checks every 12 months. However, annual input calibration is recommended for high-accuracy applications (e.g., medical, pharmaceutical). The Turck 9240si (BL ident) is a modular
7.1 Manual Tuning Procedure
- Set the controller to Manual mode (
M on display).
- Apply a step change in output from 0% to 100%. Record the process response.
- Measure the Ultimate Gain (Ku) – the P value at which the PV oscillates with constant amplitude.
- Measure the Ultimate Period (Tu) – time between oscillation peaks.
- Calculate PID values:
- P = 0.6 × Ku
- I = 0.5 × Tu (seconds)
- D = 0.125 × Tu
Calibration
- Span and zero calibration accessible through menu.
- For current input: apply known 4 mA and 20 mA signals and adjust zero/span parameters.
- For voltage input: use known 0 V and 10 V references.
- Output calibration: connect precision load and verify 4–20 mA output at corresponding MV values; adjust output calibration if necessary.
3.2 Mounting Procedure
- Remove the mounting bracket clips from the unit.
- Insert the controller through the front of the panel cutout.
- Slide the mounting bracket from the rear until the latches engage with the panel.
- Tighten the two bracket screws to 0.3 N·m (do not overtighten – this warps the front bezel).
9. Communication Protocols (Fieldbus Options)
The 9240SI-E supports Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP. The 9240SI-P supports Profibus DP. Set the controller to Manual mode ( M on display)
