Depending on whether you are looking for a technical guide or a narrative description of the event, I have provided two different styles below.

The Future of the Genre

The after school shrinking adventure install scene is evolving rapidly. Developers are now experimenting with VR (imagine looking up at a staircase from 1cm tall) and Co-op where two tiny players must move a pencil across a desk together.

New "Season 2" updates are expected for Tiny Halls in late 2025, adding a cafeteria level where spilled hot soup acts as a lava flow.

First Steps in Your Shrunken World

Now that the technical nightmare is over, the real adventure begins. The game starts in "Ms. Albright’s 3rd Period Biology Class." The bell has rung. You are alone. Then, the world grows.

Here are three pro-tips for your first run:

1. Tiny Halls (Standalone / Itch.io)

Difficulty to Install: Easy (Drag & Drop) File Size: ~450 MB

Tiny Halls is the gold standard. You play as Alex, a student who drinks a "forgotten soda" left in a chemistry beaker. You wake up on a dusty floor tile, staring up at a chair leg the size of a redwood.

How to Install:

Phase 2: The Directory Prep

  1. Create a folder on your desktop named Shrinking_Adventure (Avoid spaces in the folder name; older codecs don't like them).
  2. Move the AfterSchool_v2.exe into this folder.
  3. Extract the PerspectivePatch.zip directly into the same folder. Overwrite any files when prompted.

Phase 4: The First Launch & Audio Configuration

Double-click the launcher. The screen will go black for 10-15 seconds (this is normal—the engine is pre-rendering the shrink effect). When the menu loads:

  1. Go to Settings > Audio.
  2. Turn "Dynamic Heartbeat" down to 60%. (At 100%, the thumping becomes distracting during the Ant Hill level).
  3. Enable "Classic Cursor." The modern cursor has a hitbox issue when trying to pick up thumbtacks.

Congratulations! You have successfully completed the after school shrinking adventure install. You are now ready to press "New Game."
