Part 8: Future of Save Editing – Will Ninja Kiwi Kill It?

With the release of BTD6 Battles 2 and increased server authority, many fear that BTD6 will fully move to server-side saves. So far, Ninja Kiwi has taken a light-touch approach: they patch the encryption periodically but rarely sue or ban developers.

However, three trends could end save editing:

1. Full server-side profile storage (like in Bloons TD Battles 2). Requires always-online.
2. Blockchain or encrypted remote storage (unlikely for a tower defense game).
3. Legal threats (Ninja Kiwi is NZ-based and generally friendly, but parent company MTG could change that).

For now (as of 2025), save editing remains possible and popular.

Step 2: Open the Editor

1. Download and run BTD6 Mod Helper.
2. Click the “Save Editor” tab.
3. Click “Load File” and select your original Profile.save.

Step 3: Make Your Changes

• Monkey Money: Set to 1,000,000 (anything above 2M can flag softban, but unlikely).
• Insta-Monkeys: Go to the “Insta Database” tab. You can tick boxes to unlock every Tier-5 Insta.
• Knowledge: Max all trees by clicking “Unlock All Knowledge” (it will respect point limits).
• Heroes: Check every hero portrait to “Unlock” them. Set their XP to 10,000,000 for instant level 20.
