Editorial: How to Download and Use Canara Bank RTGS/NEFT Form for Fixed Deposits

4. Where to download the form

  • Canara Bank typically provides RTGS/NEFT instruction forms on its official website under the “Forms” or “Downloads” section and at physical branches. Search the bank’s website for “RTGS/NEFT form” or “Funds Transfer form.”
  • If you prefer paper, visit any Canara Bank branch and request the RTGS/NEFT form at the counter.

(Note: I used a reasonable default rather than fetching a live link. If you want the exact current PDF from the bank website, I can fetch it now.)

5. How to transfer and attach the form

  • Make the RTGS/NEFT transfer from your bank (internet banking, mobile app, or branch). Keep the UTR/transaction reference.
  • If the receiving branch accepts email: scan or photograph the completed advice, include the transfer UTR, and email to the branch’s official email or the designated FD opening email (use the branch address you were given).
  • If the branch requires physical submission: print the form, attach copies of the FD application and KYC (if necessary), and hand-deliver or post them with a printed transaction receipt.
  • If your remitting bank supports beneficiary remarks, include the FD reference number and your name in the beneficiary remarks field to assist reconciliation.

Section A: Date & Branch Details

  • Date: Enter the current date (DD/MM/YYYY format).
  • Branch Name & Code: Write your home branch name (e.g., "MG Road, Bangalore") and the 5-digit branch code (found on your passbook).

Section E: Purpose of Remittance (Added in the "Fixed" form)

The new fixed form includes a Purpose Code dropdown (or blank field). Fill this to comply with RBI guidelines: canara bank rtgs neft form download fixed

  • Amount (in figures & words): Must match perfectly. Example: “₹5,50,000” (Five lakh fifty thousand only).
  • Purpose Code: Use the standard list:
    • S02 – Personal remittance
    • S03 – Business payment
    • S04 – Loan repayment
    • S13 – Tax payment (very common)

7. Verification and follow-up

  • After transfer and submission of advice, obtain the transaction UTR and note the timestamp.
  • Contact the receiving branch (phone/email) after 24–48 hours (business days) with UTR and remitter details to confirm credit to FD.
  • Obtain an FD receipt or confirmation (physical or e-mail) showing amount, tenure, interest rate, maturity date, and FD account/reference number.
  • If not credited within expected time, escalate with UTR and copies of remittance advice to the branch manager or the bank’s customer support.

RTGS Charges (Branch Mode)

  • ₹2 Lakh to ₹5 Lakhs: Fixed charge of ₹25 + GST.
  • Above ₹5 Lakhs: Fixed charge of ₹50 + GST.

Note: Online transactions (Net Banking/Mobile Banking) are generally free or have lower charges. We recommend using online channels to save money. Editorial: How to Download and Use Canara Bank
