Introduction

Company of Heroes, developed by Relic Entertainment and published by THQ, is a critically acclaimed real-time strategy (RTS) game that has captivated gamers worldwide since its release in 2006. The game is set during World War II and allows players to take command of either the Allies or the Axis, leading their troops through some of the most significant battles of the war. In this post, we'll dive into the world of Company of Heroes, explore the Reliccoh English patch, and provide insights into the full game experience, including its gameplay, expansion packs, and community reception.

The Game: Company of Heroes

Company of Heroes was praised for its innovative gameplay mechanics, stunning graphics, and historical accuracy. Unlike other RTS games of its time, Company of Heroes focused on a more realistic approach to warfare, with an emphasis on resource management, positioning, and tactical decisions. Players could choose from two main factions: the Allies, consisting of American and British forces, and the Axis, comprising German troops. Each faction had unique units, structures, and playstyles, offering a diverse gaming experience.

The game's single-player campaign follows the story of an American soldier, Bill McDonagh, as he navigates through the European Theater of Operations. The campaign features several missions that take players from the beaches of Normandy to the streets of Bastogne, providing an immersive and engaging storyline.

  2. Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor - This 2009 expansion focused on the American 1st Infantry Division and introduced a new campaign, as well as additional multiplayer content.

3. Mod Compatibility

Many of the greatest total conversions—Battle of the Bulge, Europe in Ruins, Far East War—require a specific file structure. They demand the UCS file to be complete. If your UCS file is missing entries, mod units will show "ERROR: NO TEXT" in bright red letters.

2. Company of Heroes Collection

Available on GOG.com (DRM-free). This is the same content as the Legacy Edition but without copy protection.

1. What is a .UCS File?

The extension stands for Unicode String Table.

In Company of Heroes, the game engine (the Essence Engine) separates the code from the text. The game code handles movement, shooting, and physics. The .ucs file handles every single word you read on screen: Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts - Released in

  • The name of the "M4 Sherman" tank.
  • The tooltip explaining how to capture a strategic point.
  • The dramatic opening narration of the D-Day invasion.

RelicCOH.English.ucs is the master dictionary for the English language version of the game. It contains roughly 45,000+ lines of text, each assigned a specific ID number.

Troubleshooting Common "UCS Full" Issues

Even when seeking the "full" keyword, users encounter three common bugs. Here is how to fix them:

Problem: "Red text saying 'IDS_CONSTRUCTION_BARRACKS' on screen."

  • Fix: Your UCS file is missing. Re-copy a clean RelicCOH.English.ucs file from a backup into the Engine\Locale\English folder.

Problem: Game crashes during the "Omaha Beach" cutscene.

  • Fix: This is a codec issue, not a UCS issue. Disable in-game cinematics in the preferences file, or install the "No-Intro" fix.

Problem: Multiplayer sync error.

  • Fix: You have a "Full" modded version, but your opponent does not. Ensure you both use the exact same RelicCOH.exe version hash (typically v2.700 for the UCS Full community standard).

Is "RelicCoHEnglishUCS Full" Still Worth It in 2024-2025?

Absolutely. While Company of Heroes 3 exists, the original thrives on lower-spec hardware, LAN cafes, and retro gaming handhelds. The search for the "reliccohenglishucs full" package persists because:

  • Offline stability: Unlike modern launchers, this setup runs entirely offline once installed.
  • Total conversion depth: No modern RTS allows you to replace the entire game core like CoH1 mods do.
  • Speedrunning: The speedrun community prefers a static, uncut English build for consistent timing.

5. Advanced UCS Tactical Callouts

In high ELO, colors become shorthand for build orders:

| UCS Term | Build | |--------------|------------| | Red fast M8 | US – Skip BARs, rush M8 Greyhound | | Blue T2 skip | Wehr – Straight to T3/PzIV | | Green double bofors | Brit – Two emplacements at fuel | | Yellow SC into Pumas | PE – Scout Car → Puma rush |

Example team talk (3v3):
“Red, you go infantry. Green, go emplacements mid. Blue and Yellow, you two focus on fuel east. Purple, tech to T34/85s.”

  1. My friend was trying to add herself to my Fitbit.
Guess what she added all her friends!!!
Owen to. And blocked EACH one of her friends.
I don’t want to block her friends I want them off my phone!!!

    • Hi Peggy,

It sounds like she added herself and friends to your phone’s Contacts app instead of the Fitbit app.

Once contacts get added to the phone’s contacts app, rather than block them, I suggest you open the Contacts app and delete them. It will be tedious since you need to do this one by one.

Now, to add friends via the Fitbit app. Open the app and tap the Community tab at the bottom. Then tap the upper tab for Friends and choose Add Friends. Instead of Connect Contacts, at the top choose either email or username (if you know it.) Then enter the email or username of your friend and send them an invite (they must accept the invite to make the connection.)
