The Unlock Mechanism: How the Key Works

DashCommand operates on a "Freemium" model. You can download the app for free and pair it with an OBD2 adapter, but the free version is severely limited. You get basic trouble code reading, but most of the advanced features are locked.

Purchasing the license key (usually an in-app purchase or a separate unlocker app depending on your platform) removes these restrictions. Once unlocked, you gain access to: dashcommand license key

Activating on iOS (iPhone/iPad):

Activating on Android:

2. Tap the Menu icon (three horizontal lines) in the top-left corner.
3. Scroll down and select "Register / Unlock Full Version."
4. Tap "I have a license key."
5. Carefully enter your DashCommand license key (dashes included; case-sensitive).
6. Tap "Verify" or "Unlock."
7. Restart the app. You should now see "Full Version" in the settings.
