Complete Character Roster & Boss Guide
The game isn't just a random fighter; it follows the anime's timeline precisely. You cannot pick your character initially; you fight through the story as Goku/Gohan. Complete Character Roster & Boss Guide The game
- Prologue: Piccolo (Training) - Easy win, learn to dash.
- Saiyan Saga: Raditz, Nappa, Vegeta (Great Ape).
- Pro Tip: Raditz is a filter. He spams "Double Sunday." Block, dash behind him, and heavy punch.
- Namek Saga: Cui, Dodoria, Zarbon, The Ginyu Force (5 fights in a row).
- Pro Tip: Burter is the fastest enemy in the game. Don't chase him; let him come to you and counter.
- Frieza Saga: Frieza (4 forms).
- Pro Tip: Final Form Frieza uses "Death Saucer." Jump over it, don't block it.
- Android Saga: Dr. Gero, Android 19, Cell (Imperfect/Semi-Perfect).
- Cell Games: Perfect Cell.
- Pro Tip: Cell uses "Perfect Barrier." Spam ki blasts from far away to drain his stamina.
- Buu Saga: Fat Buu, Super Buu, Gotenks, Vegito, Kid Buu.
Boss Strategies: From Raditz to Frieza
The difficulty curve in Dragon Ball Devolution is infamous. Here’s how to survive each fight:
- Raditz: He spams "Double Sunday." Jump over it. Do not block—it breaks your guard instantly.
- Nappa: He is slow. Lure him into using "Giant Storm" (which leaves him exhausted), then attack from behind.
- Recoome: The first real wall. His "Recoome Kick" has no wind-up animation. You must predict it. The trick: after every two of your attacks, backdash immediately.
- Ginyu (Body Change): If you see him pose, teleport away. His body swap changes your character to Ginyu with lower stats. To counter, never let him stand still for more than one second.
- Frieza (Final Form): The ultimate boss. He has four health bars and a "Death Saucer" that tracks you. The winning strategy: stay directly underneath him. His horizontal attacks cannot hit you there.
Tips for Conquering the Game
Since you cannot save progress in most unblocked versions, you need to win in one sitting. Here are quick tips:
- Practice Teleporting: Go into Practice mode. Set the dummy to attack. Learn to guard right before impact to teleport. This is the only way to beat fast characters like Vegeta.
- Bait the Beam: Against AI, stand still and charge Ki. The enemy will fire a beam. Jump over it and fire your own beam while they are recovering.
- Learn the "Volleyball" combo: For Goku: Medium Punch, Medium Kick, Heavy Punch, Down + Heavy Kick. This spikes the enemy into the ground, bouncing them for an air combo.
- Don't transform too early: Transformations drain Ki over time. Transform at 7 bars, not 4, so you have a reserve to attack.
The Legality & Ethics of Unblocked Games
A quick note: Dragon Ball Devolution is abandonware. The original creator has not updated the game since 2018. Toei Animation has the legal right to shut it down (due to copyright), but because it is a free, non-profit parody, it generally stays under the radar.
Playing "unblocked" versions is a grey area. You are not pirating a paid product, but you are circumventing network rules. Use common sense:
- Don't play during a lecture or meeting.
- Turn off sound (the intro music is loud).
- Use headphones.
Secret Codes and Easter Eggs
The developer hid several cheat codes on the title screen. Enter these before pressing "Start":
ZENKAI– Unlocks all characters from the start.GINYU– Play as Captain Ginyu (extremely glitchy but fun).CHIAOTZU– Self-destruct mode (you explode on death, damaging the enemy).SAIYAN– Enables "Hard Mode" where all enemies have double attack speed.
