Ed64 Plus Firmware [TRUSTED]
1. What is the ED64 Plus?
The ED64 Plus is a budget Nintendo 64 flash cartridge, often compared to the EverDrive 64. It allows you to play ROMs from an SD card.
Important: It is not the same as the EverDrive 64. It uses different firmware/OS files. Confusing the two can brick the cart.

1. The "Stock" Firmware Experience
If you buy an ED64 Plus and plug it in without updating, you will likely be greeted by a barebones menu system.
- User Interface (UI): The stock menu is functional but dated. It often resembles a simple DOS-style file browser. Navigating folders can be sluggish, and box art support is either non-existent or requires a tedious setup process.
- Compatibility: The original OS (Operating System) used on these carts was based on older versions of the Krikzz EverDrive OS. Consequently, it struggles with newer ROM hacks, games that require the Expansion Pak (like Majora’s Mask or Perfect Dark), and larger file sizes.
- Save Management: The stock firmware often handles saves (SRAM) inconsistently. Users frequently report saves not committing to the SD card properly unless they manually reset the console, leading to lost progress.
Rating: 4/10 (Functional, but frustrating.)
