Title: *Elf Girl Pinball v0.9.2 “Sprites & Strikers” – OWENO Patch Notes
Posted by: OWENO Dev Team Date: Hot off the anvil
Greetings, flipper-fingers and forest-folk! Title: *Elf Girl Pinball v0
We are thrilled to launch Elf Girl Pinball v0.9.2 (Codename: “OWENO” – One With Every Nature Orb). This is a massive stability and content drop as we race toward the full v1.0 release. The elven circuit is buzzing, and the high-score runes are glowing.
3. Mechanics
Access:
- To enter the Spirit Wilds, the player must activate the "Moon Ramp" (left loop shot) three times in quick succession. The ramp then diverts upward to the new zone.
Gameplay Loop:
- Phase 1: The Ritual (Timed Mode): Upon entry, the player has 20 seconds. The gravity is altered, making the ball "floaty."
- Phase 2: Spirit Targets: Three glowing targets (Stag, Owl, Bear) must be hit in a specific randomized order shown on the DMD (Dot Matrix Display).
- Phase 3: Multi-Ball Reward: Completing the sequence triggers "Spirit Blessing."
- Two new balls are launched.
- A magnetic lock holds all three balls at the top of the playfield, then releases them in a chaotic "fountain" formation.
What is Elf Girl Pinball?
At its core, Elf Girl Pinball takes the classic brick-and-paddle formula (think Arkanoid or Breakout) and twists it into a vertical pinball dungeon crawler. You control a floating paddle at the bottom of the screen, but instead of simply clearing bricks, you are guiding a magical silver ball through a living fantasy diorama.
The "Elf Girl" of the title is your silent guide—a ranger character who stands on the left side of the playfield, offering passive buffs, story quips, and visual feedback as you complete ramps, hit targets, and trigger "Forest Fury" modes.
Room for future updates
- Expanded tables and themed tables beyond the forest theme.
- Additional missions and branching objectives for long-term goals.
- More accessibility options (colorblind modes, adjustable difficulty).
- Online leaderboards and ghost replay sharing.
🐛 Bug Fixes
- Fixed the invisible collision on the Enchanted Well (sorry for the cheap drains, everyone).
- Corrected audio desync on the "Critical Hit" chime. It no longer plays 2 seconds late.
- CRITICAL: Resolved a memory leak when the Elf Girl does her idle animation for >10 minutes. Your save file should no longer turn into a corrupted acorn.
1. Concept Overview
The "Spirit Wilds" adds a vertical extension to the upper-right playfield. It serves as a high-risk, high-reward zone where the Elf Girl communes with forest spirits. This area introduces a "Freeze Mechanic" where the ball speed slows down, allowing for precision shooting, but missing the shot spits the ball back down the table at high velocity.
