Unlike standard office printers, the L1800 uses a 6-color ink system (CMYK + Light Cyan + Light Magenta). This setup eliminates the "grainy" look common in 4-color printers. The driver is the translator that tells the printer exactly how much of each light ink to lay down on matte or glossy paper.
Without the correct driver:
- Your prints may have a green or magenta color cast.
- The printer might refuse to recognize A3+ paper sizes.
- You lose access to advanced ICC profile management.
