Rajan tried to explain it to his mother once, in a rare moment of pause between missions. But when he opened his mouth, only Thai came out.

He wept.

On the 39th day, he completed the final DLC—The Lost Yeti Cave, a scrapped mission Mr. DJ had stitched back together from beta files. At the end, instead of a cutscene, there was a text box:

“Congratulations, Rajan. You’ve played 184 hours. You’ve heard 15 languages. You’ve killed 3,842 enemies. But you haven’t unlocked the true ending. To unlock: delete System32. Or just turn off the PC. Your choice.”

Rajan didn’t have System32. He had a laptop with a dying battery and a disc drive held together by hope.

He reached for the power button.

And the screen flickered.

Somewhere in Dadar, Bhaskar smiled and lit another cigarette. The disc was still spinning in his own machine, too. And it had been, for a very long time.

The Version 1.7.0 Sweet Spot

If you look at the patch history of Far Cry 4, version 1.7.0 was the pinnacle. Ubisoft fixed the major stuttering issues, optimized the dreadful PC port from launch, and added the "Escape from Durgesh Prison" mode.

Later updates (and the infamous Uplay launcher updates) eventually broke mod compatibility and introduced slight performance regressions for older CPUs.
