1. The Platformer Mode (Full Gameplay Overhaul)
This is the biggest change. Update 2.21 fully integrates Platformer Mode into the main game, not just the editor. No checkpoints within a single screen
How it works:
- Control: Your icon moves left/right with arrow keys or A/D. The jump button works normally.
- Camera: The camera follows you horizontally. When you touch the right edge of the screen, the level scrolls right.
- Checkpoints: Orange orbs act as checkpoints. Die, and you respawn at the last one (lives system removed from earlier 2.2 betas).
- Goal: Touch the End Gate (a large golden door), not the old end line.
- Game Modes: Wave, Ship, Ball, etc., now work horizontally. For example, the Wave flies in a sine wave while moving right.
How to access:
- Official levels: Go to the main menu → “Tower” (new button). This contains the full “The Tower” platformer level.
- User levels: In the search menu, toggle the Platformer Mode filter (blue icon).
