Understanding the “NSP” Format

For those unfamiliar: NSP (Nintendo Submission Package) is the native digital format for Switch games, typically used for downloads from the eShop. In the context of this blog post, “Hello Kitty Island Adventure - NSP” refers to the base game file used by players with custom firmware (CFW) or emulators. Update 1.10 would then be installed as a separate patch file to bring the game to its latest version.

What’s New in Update 1.10?

While the full patch notes are concise, Update 1.10 focuses on three main areas: Hello Kitty Island Adventure — Update 1

C. Undersea Grotto Biome

Swimming was always possible, but Update 1.10 introduces a full underwater biome accessible via a new submarine fast-travel point. Collect pearls, find lost Sanrio trinkets, and befriend a new sea-creature NPC (a capybara in a diving helmet named Capy). Prioritize daily event tasks and the limited-time friendship

Special Update Content:

Is the 1.10 Update Worth the Storage Space?

Absolutely. The base Hello Kitty Island Adventure v1.0 was charming but shallow. You could "complete" the friendship levels with the main cast (Hello Kitty, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll) in about 15 hours. Update 1.10 adds roughly 25 hours of new content.

Furthermore, this patch fixes the "Friendship Fatigue" bug where characters would stop giving daily quests. Hello Kitty will now pester you every 4 hours instead of 6.
