iSpring Suite 11 Tutorial: From PowerPoint to Professional eLearning

iSpring Suite 11 is a powerful PowerPoint add-in that converts static slides into interactive online courses, quizzes, and video lectures. This tutorial covers the core workflow.

4.2 Adding Narration and Timing

  1. Select a slide.
  2. Click NarrationRecord Audio.
  3. Speak into the microphone; use Next Slide button to continue.
  4. Edit waveform: trim silence, adjust volume.
  5. Optionally, import pre‑recorded MP3 files.

Setting the Passing Score:

Go to "Quiz Properties" (Top menu) > "Completion & Scoring."

  • Set passing score to 80%.
  • Enable "Allow unlimited attempts" or "Limit to 3 attempts."

Critical Tip: Check "Reset attempts on question failure" if you want the learner to retake only the questions they failed, rather than the entire quiz. ispring suite 11 tutorial

Part 6: Tutorial #5 – Publishing to an LMS (SCORM 1.2 / xAPI)

You have built the course. Now you need to upload it to Moodle, Canvas, Blackboard, or TalentLMS.

The iSpring Suite 11 Toolbar Overview

The ribbon is divided into logical groups: iSpring Suite 11 Tutorial: From PowerPoint to Professional

  • Slides: Manage slide properties, navigation, and branding.
  • Narration: Record audio and video for your slides.
  • Interactions: Access the Interaction builder (timelines, glossaries, FAQs).
  • Quiz: Launch the Quiz maker.
  • Screencast: Record your screen or webcam.
  • Publish: The crucial button to export your project.

7.3 Inserting Video into a Course

In PowerPoint: VideoFrom File → select the .mp4 created by Cam Pro. Or publish the video as a standalone module.

Part 3: The “Invisible Recording” (iSpring Cam Pro 11)

Need to record software simulation? Don’t just capture your screen—capture the decisions. Select a slide

Open iSpring Cam Pro (included). Choose Software Simulation mode, not just Screen Recording.

When you record, iSpring tracks every click and keystroke. After recording, you get three outputs automatically:

  1. View (just watch)
  2. Try (interactive with hints)
  3. Test (no hints, graded steps)

Publish just the Test version to your LMS. Now learners can prove they know how to use your CRM or dashboard without a live proctor. iSpring handles the tracking (SCO 1.2 or 2004).

Common mistake: People record a 15-minute video. Learners zone out at minute 4. Instead, record five 3-minute simulations. Use the iSpring Visuals tab to add a “Continue” button between each. Microlearning wins every time.
