Most introductory circuit books rely heavily on algebraic methods (phasors, Ohm’s law, Kirchhoff’s laws). Cassell, however, does not shy away from teaching circuits through ordinary differential equations (ODEs) and the D-operator. This approach prepares students for advanced topics like transient analysis, Laplace transforms, and state-space representation.
