The magazine was established to bridge the gap between the student body and the administration, as well as to provide a creative outlet for the youth of the North Lebanon area (specifically the Koura district, where the university is located). The name is a fusion of two concepts:

• Logos: A Greek term meaning "word," "reason," or "discourse." It implies logic, rationality, and the articulation of thought.
• Kalamoon: A variation of "Balamand" (or the nearby town of Kalamoon), grounding the publication in its specific geographical and cultural context.
