This guide will walk you through exactly how to build, trigger, and master this achievement as a newcomer. No prior redstone experience is required.

Auto-Mode: The piston's auto mode can be activated at any height, which is useful for farming currency or progress.

Stand near the trap with raw meat (for pigs) or let a zombie chase you.
When mob is directly in front of the piston, pull the lever.

Build a reliable piston trap that triggers when a mob or player steps on a pressure plate or trips a tripwire, then crushes or moves them using pistons to earn the achievement.
Dig a 1×1 hole (2 blocks deep) and place lava at the bottom, or plant a cactus at ground level.
Dig a hole 2 blocks wide, 2 blocks long, and 3 blocks deep. At the very bottom, place a water source or a bed of "Pink Petal Leaves" to ensure the victim lands safely (for morality points, but the achievement counts it as a "trap").
