Collectibles are split into three types: Wanted Posters (50), Playboy Magazines (50), and Clandestine Radio Frequencies (30 in base game + 69 in Jimmy’s Vendetta DLC).
I’ll focus on the base game (130 items) since DLC collectibles are on separate maps. mafia 2 all collectibles guide
Chapters 1-3 (First 6 Magazines)
- Chapter 1 – Chapter 1: During the opening war flashback. In the ruined church, on a pew near the left wall (missable if you rush).
- Chapter 2 – Home Sweet Home: After the bar fight, return to Vito’s old apartment. On the nightstand next to the bed.
- Chapter 2 – The Old Country: In the construction site, on top of a stack of plywood near the concrete pipes.
- Chapter 3 – Enemy of the State: In the scrap yard, inside the office trailer (on a filing cabinet).
- Chapter 3 – Warehouse: On a crate near the explosive barrels.
- Chapter 3 – Docks: After the police chase, behind the dumpster at the docks where you meet Mike.
Types of Collectibles

Wanted Posters: These are scattered around Empire Bay and offer a glimpse into the criminal activities happening around the city. There are 10 Wanted Posters to find.

Memorabilia: These are collectible items related to the history of the city and its underworld. There are 50 Memorabilia items. Collectibles are split into three types: Wanted Posters

VHS Tapes: A nostalgic collectible from the 80s and 90s. Finding these tapes provides insight into side stories and characters. There are 20 VHS Tapes.

Coin Purses: These contain a significant amount of gold coins. There are 15 Coin Purses. I’ll focus on the base game (130 items)

Jukebox Records: These records are scattered throughout the game's environments. Collecting them gives you music to listen to at Joe's hideouts. There are 20 Jukebox Records.

Billboard Photographs: Taking photographs from specific viewpoints around Empire Bay for your Photo Album. There are 20 photographs.
1. Two Distinct Types with Clear Tracking
- Playboy Magazines (50) – Unlock pin-up photos + give brief era-appropriate info.
- Wanted Posters (159) – Unlock concept art and developer commentary.
Each collectible is permanently marked on the in‑game map once you discover the area (except the first few chapters), and your progress per chapter is shown.
Chapter 11 – A Friend of Ours (Magazines 31-35)
- #31: Freddy’s Bar – behind the counter on a stool.
- #32: The warehouse where the deal goes bad – on a lower crate.
- #33: Same warehouse, upstairs on a metal shelf.
- #34: In the junkyard where you dump the car – in the shack.
- #35: During the car chase – after crashing, in the alleyway on the left.
