Mugoku no Kuni no Alice — 概要記事
The Cheshire Cat (Grimalkin)
The cat is gone. In his place is Grimalkin, a scarred, mute assassin who wears the flayed skin of a giant feline as a cloak. He does not smile; he is physically incapable of facial expression. His disappearing act is not magic, but hyper-lethal speed. He communicates only through nods, yet he develops a terrifying paternal obsession with Alice, seeing her as a "kitten" in need of sharpening.
3. The "Prisonless" System — Worldbuilding Feature
- No jails, no trials. The moment a crime is confirmed, the criminal becomes a Hollow.
- Hollows are used as public labor (farming, cleaning, soldiers) — they are essentially living tools.
- This creates a false utopia where everyone claims to be happy, but fear of becoming Hollow keeps people in line.
4. The Facility & Supporting Cast
Alice is sent to "Beheading House No. 3" (Zanbeyasumi No. 3), a special facility for potential criminals who haven't yet fully triggered the curse. There, she meets: Mugoku no Kuni no Alice
- Kai: A boy who tried to kill his abusive father but failed to trigger the Hollow transformation. He is suspicious of Alice from the start.
- Sachi: A girl who attempted suicide (considered a crime against the state) and lost partial memories.
- The Warden: A mysterious, unsettling man who seems to know more about Alice's immunity than he lets on.
