Nadamoo YHD-5100 Barcode Scanner – User Manual (Draft)
5. Hardware Installation
- Plug the USB cable into the scanner’s port.
- Connect the other end to an available USB port on your computer or POS terminal.
- The system automatically detects the scanner as a HID keyboard (no driver installation needed for Windows, macOS, or Linux).
- The LED will flash once and then remain dim red – ready to scan.
8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---------|----------------|----------|
| No red beam / no LED | USB not connected or insufficient power | Reconnect cable; try a different USB port; use powered USB hub |
| Scans but outputs wrong characters | Keyboard language mismatch | Set host keyboard layout to US English; scan “US Keyboard” setup code |
| Beeps but no data in application | Application not in text input mode | Click into a text field (Notepad, Excel cell) |
| Cannot read certain barcodes | Barcode type disabled or poor print quality | Enable the symbology (see programming); clean barcode; adjust distance (2–6 inches) |
| Continuous beeping / erratic output | Stuck trigger or configuration error | Disconnect and reconnect; scan “Reset to Factory Defaults” |
3. Example quick start (not from actual manual, but typical usage)
- Plug the YHD-5100 into a USB port.
- Open Notepad or any text field.
- Scan a barcode — it should type the number automatically.
- To add an Enter after each scan: scan the “Suffix TAB / ENTER” programming barcode (found in the manual).
- To reset to defaults: scan the “Factory Default” barcode.
