1. Navigate to the Palo Alto Networks Support Portal (support.paloalto.com).
2. Log in with your credentials.

Step 2: Request the VM-Series Trial

Once logged in:

1. Hover over "Products" → "VM-Series".
2. Click "Free Trial".
3. Fill out the form. For "Deployment Type," select "On-Premises."
4. Under "Hypervisor," ensure you select "VMware" (not KVM or AWS).

Step 5: Power On and Initial Access

1. Start the VM.
2. Watch the console boot process. Wait for the login prompt (may take 2-3 minutes).
3. The default management IP is 192.168.1.1 (if using NAT/Bridged, you may need to change it).
4. To find the actual DHCP-assigned IP (if your Management adapter uses DHCP), log into the console:
   • Username: admin
   • Password: (leave blank, then set a new password on first login)
5. Run: show interface management or show ip address mgmt.
