Step 2: Verify VMware Workstation Compatibility

Issue 1: The VM crashes on boot (Purple Screen of Death)
- Cause: Nested virtualization is off.
- Fix: In VMware Workstation, go to VM Settings → Processor → Enable "Virtualize Intel VT-x/EPT" and "Virtualize CPU performance counters."
2.1. Prerequisites for Download

- Navigate to the Palo Alto Networks Support Portal (
support.paloalto.com). - Log in with your credentials.
Step 2: Request the VM-Series Trial
Once logged in:
- Hover over "Products" → "VM-Series".
- Click "Free Trial".
- Fill out the form. For "Deployment Type," select "On-Premises."
- Under "Hypervisor," ensure you select "VMware" (not KVM or AWS).

Step 5: Power On and Initial Access
- Start the VM.
- Watch the console boot process. Wait for the login prompt (may take 2-3 minutes).
