1. The Holy Grail: The Uplift Mofo Party Plan Outtakes (1987)

After Freaky Styley underperformed, the band was raw and hungry. They recorded Uplift Mofo with producer Michael Beinhorn. The album is frantic, but the outtakes are even wilder. Songs like “Salute to Kareem” (a funk-punk ode to the basketball star) and a cover of The Stooges’ “Search and Destroy” were cut. These circulate on low-quality bootlegs. The real story? The Aborted Second Navarro Album (1996-1997)

After touring One Hot Minute, the band entered the studio to write a follow-up. They recorded about 12 songs before the chemistry imploded. Only two have ever leaked:

• "Circle of the Noose" – Released officially in 2022 as part of the One Hot Minute deluxe reissue, but for 25 years, it was the ultimate bootleg. A driving, melodic rock song with a soaring chorus.
• "Fall Water" – Still unreleased in any format. It’s a 9-minute ambient jam with Flea on piano and Navarro on e-bow. Kiedis whispers spoken-word over it. Master tapes are rumored to be at Warner Bros. vault, marked “Do Not Open.”
