Renault water pumps are centrifugal pumps that circulate coolant to prevent engine overheating.
Purpose: They drive coolant through the engine block and radiator to maintain optimal operating temperatures.
Maintenance: Often replaced simultaneously with the timing belt (cam belt) every 60,000 to 100,000 km, as they are typically driven by the same system. Common Products:
Autolec Water Pump (WPA545K): Designed specifically for the Renault Kwid.
NWP Water Pump (NWP-918): Suitable for the Renault Duster, Lodgy, and Scala Diesel. renault pummp
GMB Water Pump (WP055): An aftermarket option for the Renault Kwid. 2. Fuel Pumps
Fuel pumps deliver fuel from the tank to the engine at a specific pressure (typically 3.0 to 5.0 bar for Renault models). Go to product viewer dialog for this item. Autolec Water Pump WPA545K - Fits Renault Kwid
Logline: In a dusty corner of a French scrapyard, a retired Renault engineer discovers the only surviving prototype of the "Pummp"—a car so bizarre and broken that Renault buried it. But when he turns the key, the engine doesn't just start. It pumps.
He drove it—if you can call it driving. The car didn’t roll. It lurched. Each pump of the lever sent a wave through the spherical pods, and the car moved forward exactly one meter per pump. Top speed: 3 km/h. But the strangest part? The air around the car grew humid. Then warm. Then a small cloud formed above the roof, and it began to rain—just on the car. Sylvie saw the video. She flew to Lyon.
“Turn it off,” she said, pale.
“It won’t turn off,” Leo replied. The lever was stuck in the down position. The engine kept pumping. The rain turned to sleet.
She opened her old file. “The Pummp wasn’t a car. It was a weather machine. The engineer—a man named Pascal Renault (no relation to the company)—believed vehicles should give back to the environment. He designed an engine that pumped moisture from the ground into the air. It was meant to fight droughts. But during testing in the Sahara, it created a flash flood. Three test drivers drowned. Renault buried the project.” Title: The Heart of the Pummp Logline: In
Common on: 1.5 dCI, 1.9 dCI, 2.0 dCI
Symptoms of failure:
Key tip: The 1.5 dCI fuel pump (Delphi or Bosch) can contaminate the entire fuel system if it fails internally. Don’t just replace the pump – flush lines, replace filter, and inspect injectors.
Preventive: Change diesel filter every 20k miles / 2 years. Use correct low-viscosity oil (5W-30 or 0W-30 RN0720).
