For Creators: Stop feeding the beast.
- Shorter is stronger. Cut the fat. If your video doesn't start in 15 seconds, re-edit. If your podcast episode is 3 hours, ask if it needs to be 3 hours, or if you are just afraid to be concise.
- Define your "Anti-Audience." Great content doesn't try to please everyone. The quickest path to mediocrity is universality. Who are you not making this for? Be specific. Offend someone (with your taste, not malice).
- Master the format, then break it. Learn why the three-act structure works, then see if you can tell a story in two acts. Learn the rules of lighting and composition, then see if a single static shot serves the emotion better than a drone flyover.
- Attribute your influences. Better media is honest about its DNA. If you are remaking Chrono Trigger meets The Sopranos, say so. Honesty builds trust. Trust builds loyalty.
