Rimworld Alpha Animals Tier List -

The Ultimate RimWorld Alpha Animals Tier List

The Alpha Animals mod is a staple for expanding the RimWorld bestiary, adding over 100 new creatures to the game. However, not all mutant beasts are created equal. Some are game-breaking powerhouses that will carry your colony to the Ship, while others are resource drains that are better off left in the wild or turned into burgers.

This tier list ranks animals based on their utility, combat prowess, handling requirements, and breeding potential. rimworld alpha animals tier list

S-Tier: The Colony Carriers

These animals are objectively superior. They offer immense power or utility with very few downsides. If you see these, tame them immediately. The Ultimate RimWorld Alpha Animals Tier List The

  1. Gigantelope: The undisputed king of pack animals. They have massive carry capacity, decent speed, and can fend for themselves against mid-tier threats. They graze, meaning zero food cost if you have grass, and they breed relatively quickly. They replace Muffalos entirely.
  2. Terraforge: A mechanical marvel. The Terraforge is a construction and mining machine. It moves fast, has high DPS, and most importantly, it can construct and haul. It doesn’t eat food; it recharges. Having a squad of these automates your base building.
  3. Sepiahearth: The ultimate defense pet. These beasts can slowly regenerate the health of nearby allies. They are essentially walking hospitals. In a killbox, a few Sepiahearths can keep your front-line melee fighters alive through sheer regeneration output.
  4. Aerofleet: The premier late-game transport animal. They fly, they have massive carrying capacity, and they don't get attacked by ground melee enemies. Perfect for caravans and escaping raids.

B-Tier (Solid Generalists)

Good, but outclassed by vanilla animals or specific S/A modded ones. Gigantelope: The undisputed king of pack animals

  • Feralisk (Clutch Mother) – Giant spider that lays eggs. Eggs are valuable + hatch into minions. Warning: It claims territory — will attack any non-colonist (including traders).
  • PhloshSelf-boosted cannon. Fires plasma bursts while screaming. Good for fire-based killboxes. Rotates slowly, though.
  • CactopusRanged defender. Shoots slow, armor-piercing spikes. Very tanky. Only falls off due to low DPS vs mechanoids.
  • GigantelopeCaravan king. 300kg carry weight + produces Miracle Fruit (minor healing when eaten). Slower than a dromedary but safer.

1. Feralisk Clutch Mother (The Web Weaver)

Why S-Tier: A living fortress and an automatic raid defense system. The Clutch Mother is a giant, tamable spider that constantly produces wild, hostile Feralisks. If you tame one and keep it fed, it will spin webs that drastically slow all enemies. When a raid comes, the Clutch Mother’s children will swarm the invaders.

  • Best for: Mountain bases and killbox-less runs.
  • Downside: Eats 0.8 nutrition/day. If it goes hungry or manhunter, you die.
