What Exactly is Strummed Acoustic 2?

Part of NI’s expanding Session Guitarist series (which includes electric sunburst deluxe, strummed nylon, and picked acoustic), Strummed Acoustic 2 is a sample library designed exclusively for the full version of Kontakt 6.7+ (or later). It focuses on one specific task: delivering pristine, playable, real-time acoustic guitar strumming.

The library was recorded using a high-end steel-string acoustic guitar, captured via a dual-channel signal path (direct line and studio condenser mic). The result is a warm, punchy tone that fits instantly into pop, folk, indie rock, country, and cinematic ballads.

3. The Droning Open Tuning

This is the secret weapon. Using the "Open D" and "Open G" voicings (activated via a drop-down menu), the library mimics alternate tunings. You can hold down one key for a droning bass note while playing the melody chord on top.

2. The Performance Controls (Key Concepts)

The manual details how to control the playback engine, which is the core of the library.

Step 1: Inputting Chords

Simply draw in your chord progression in the piano roll. Play the root note of the chord in the lower register (C3 for C Major, D3 for D Minor). If you want an inversion, play the chord as a triad in the octave above C4.
