Sunmi V2 Root [patched] -

Step 3: Extract and Patch the Boot Image

• Download the stock firmware for your exact Sunmi V2 build number.
• Extract the boot.img file from the firmware package.
• Transfer boot.img to the Sunmi V2’s internal storage.
• Install Magisk APK on the V2.
• Open Magisk → Tap Install → Select and Patch a File → Choose boot.img.
• Magisk will generate a magisk_patched.img in the Downloads folder.

Step 3: Patch with Magisk

• On the Sunmi V2, install the Magisk.apk.
• Open Magisk → Tap Install → Select Select and Patch a File.
• Navigate to the boot.img you copied earlier.
• Magisk will generate a magisk_patched_[random].img in the Downloads folder.

Method 1: Bootloader Unlock → Magisk (Standard Android Root)

• Prerequisites: OEM unlock allowed in Developer Options; bootloader unlock code (rarely available for Sunmi production devices).
• Process:
  1. Enable Developer Options → OEM unlocking.
  2. Reboot to fastboot: adb reboot bootloader
  3. Unlock bootloader: fastboot oem unlock (may need a token from Sunmi—usually denied).
  4. Patch stock boot image with Magisk.
  5. Flash patched boot image: fastboot flash boot magisk_patched.img
  6. Install Magisk Manager APK.
• Success rate: Low for production Sunmi V2 units; engineering/dev units may work.
