To run Super Mario 3D World (USA) on a Wii U using Loadiine GX2, the game must be in an extracted folder format, as Loadiine cannot play raw ISO or .wux files directly. ✅ Direct Solution
You must convert your ISO into a folder containing three specific subfolders: code, content, and meta. 📂 Correct Folder Structure
For Loadiine to recognize the game, your SD card path must look exactly like this:SD:/wiiu/games/Super Mario 3D World [ARDU01]/ Inside that folder, you must have: code/ (contains the .rpx executable and .xml system files) content/ (contains game assets like models and music) meta/ (contains the icon and manual data)
Note: The Title ID in brackets [ARDU01] is mandatory for Loadiine GX2 to display the game and fetch cover art. 🛠 Troubleshooting Common Issues
Infinite Loading/Splash Screen: If the game hangs on the "Wii U" logo, ensure your SD card is not named "WIIU" or "WII U", as this causes a known conflict.
Missing XML Files: Loadiine uses app.xml and cos.xml (found in the code folder) to set memory values. If these are missing, the game may crash or fail to load.
Region Lock: While Loadiine is generally region-free, some games check the system region. If a USA version fails on a Japanese console, you may need to use a tool like Spiik or manually move files from USEn to the local language folder. 🚀 Better Alternative: WUP Installer
Loadiine is considered an older method with slower load times and lower compatibility. Most users now prefer: Converting the game to WUP format (installable files).
Using WUP Installer GX2 to install it directly to the Wii U home menu.
This allows the game to run at full speed from a USB drive or internal memory.

Playing Super Mario 3D World on Wii U via Loadiine GX2 (USA Version)
Super Mario 3D World is widely considered one of the finest platformers on the Nintendo Wii U. While many players have moved to the Nintendo Switch port, the original Wii U version remains a staple for enthusiasts who prefer the unique GamePad touch controls and integrated Miiverse functionality. For those utilizing homebrew, loading the game through Loadiine GX2 is a popular method to play backups directly from an SD card. What is Loadiine?
Loadiine is a homebrew application for the Wii U that acts as a wrapper, allowing users to launch games from an SD card instead of a physical disc. It is particularly favored for its ability to load decrypted games and its independence from the console's internal storage. Prerequisites for Super Mario 3D World (USA)
To get the USA version of Super Mario 3D World working on Loadiine, you need:
A Modded Wii U: Your console must be capable of launching the Homebrew Launcher.
SD Card: A high-quality SD card (formatted to FAT32) with at least 2GB of free space, though 32GB+ is recommended for multiple titles.
Decrypted Game Files: Loadiine does not use standard ISO files; it requires the game to be extracted into a specific folder structure consisting of code, content, and meta folders. Correct Folder Structure for Loadiine
The most common reason for games failing to load is an incorrect directory path. For the USA version of Super Mario 3D World, your SD card should look like this: SD:\wiiu\games\Super Mario 3D World [ARDP01]\ code\ (Contains .rpx and .xml files) content\ (Contains the game's actual data assets) meta\ (Contains the icon and splash screen images)
You can find the specific TitleID (ARDP01 for the USA version) on sites like GameTDB to ensure Loadiine recognizes the title and downloads the correct covers. Loading and Compatibility
Once your files are in place, launch Loadiine GX2 from the Homebrew Launcher.

If you’re looking to revisit Super Mario 3D World without swapping discs, or you're curious about the homebrew scene, Loadiine GX2 is the go-to backup loader for the Wii U. While many users have shifted to installing games directly to the home screen (WUP), Loadiine remains a popular choice for those who prefer running games directly from an SD card. Here is how to get the USA version working smoothly. 1. Preparing Your SD Card
Loadiine requires a specific folder structure to recognize your games. If this isn't perfect, the game won't show up in your menu. On the root of your SD card, create a folder named wiiu. Inside wiiu, create a folder named games.
Inside games, create a folder for the game using this exact naming convention: Super Mario 3D World [ARDSE0] 2. Extracting the ISO/Files
Loadiine does not play a single .iso file. Instead, it uses extracted files (RPX format). If you have a disc image, you’ll need to extract it so that you have three specific folders: code content meta
Place these three folders inside your Super Mario 3D World [ARDSE0] folder. 3. Essential Compatibility Settings
Super Mario 3D World is highly compatible with Loadiine, but there are a few things to keep in mind for the USA version: Super Mario 3D World Wii U ISO: A
SD Card Speed: This game pulls a lot of data. Use a Class 10 SD card to prevent stuttering during those fast-paced "Clear Pipe" sections.
Mii Maker: Most Loadiine versions require you to launch the Mii Maker app to trigger the homebrew exploit.
Super Mario 3D World Settings: Inside the Loadiine GX2 menu, you can usually leave the settings on "Default." However, if you experience crashes, ensure the "Launch Method" is set to Mii Maker. 4. Why Use Loadiine for 3D World?
While the newer "WUP Installer" method allows you to install games to a USB drive or System NAND, Loadiine is excellent for modding. If you want to try out custom levels or character skins created by the community, it is much easier to swap files on your SD card using the Loadiine structure. Troubleshooting Common Issues
Black Screen on Launch: This usually means a file is missing in the code folder. Ensure your cos.xml and app.xml files are present.
Game Not Showing Up: Double-check your folder naming. If the [ARDSE0] ID is missing or incorrect, Loadiine might skip it.
Getting Super Mario 3D World (USA version) to run on your Wii U using Loadiine GX2 is a classic homebrew project. While newer methods like Tiramisu or Aroma with WUP Installer are often faster, Loadiine remains a great "SD-only" way to play without installing files directly to your console's NAND. The "Golden Rule" of Loadiine Folder Structure
Loadiine is very picky about where files go. If your folders aren't named exactly right, the game won't show up in the menu.
Format your SD Card: Ensure your SD card is formatted to FAT32 with 32KB or 64KB clusters for the best compatibility.
Create the Path: Navigate to the root of your SD card and build this exact path: SD:/wiiu/games/Super Mario 3D World [ARDP01]/
Note: The code in the brackets is the Title ID for the USA version. If you don't use the ID, Loadiine might not find the covers or save data correctly.
Place the Game Files: Inside that game folder, you must have three specific subfolders extracted from your ISO/WUD: /code/ (Contains the .rpx file and .xml files) /content/ (The bulk of the game data) /meta/ (Icons and basic game info) Preparation: Converting Your ISO/WUD
Loadiine cannot run a raw .iso or .wud file. It needs "extracted" files.
CDecrypt: If you have encrypted files, tools like CDecrypt (search for it on GitHub) can turn those into the code, content, and meta folders you need.
WiiUDownloader: You can use modern tools like WiiUDownloader to download and decrypt the files directly into the Loadiine format. How to Launch and Play
Boot Homebrew: Turn on your Wii U and launch the Homebrew Launcher (via BrowserHax or a coldboot environment like Tiramisu). Open Loadiine GX2: Find it in your list of apps. Select & Load: Scroll to Super Mario 3D World and tap it.
The "Mii Maker" Trick: Most versions of Loadiine launch games by "replacing" the Mii Maker app. When the screen tells you to, press the Home button and launch Mii Maker—the console will actually load Mario instead. Troubleshooting "Black Screens" If the game hangs or crashes on startup:
Missing XMLs: Ensure the app.xml and cos.xml files are in your /code/ folder. Loadiine uses these to set the memory limits for the game.
SD Speed: Super Mario 3D World is about 1.7GB. If your SD card is slow (Class 4 or lower), you might experience stuttering or long load times.
Region Lock: Even though Loadiine is region-free, sometimes the "Save" folder needs to be manually created as SD:/wiiu/saves/Super Mario 3D World [ARDP01]/common/ to avoid errors.
If you'd like to streamline this, I can explain how to move from Loadiine to WUP Installer, which lets you play the game directly from the Wii U Home Menu with faster load times. Loadiine compatibility list - WikiTemp, the GBAtemp wiki
To get Super Mario 3D World (USA) working with Loadiine on your Wii U, you need to ensure the file structure is correct on your SD card. Loadiine does not run "ISO" files directly; it requires the game to be extracted into a specific folder format. Setup Requirements
Correct Folder Structure: Use the path SD:/wiiu/games/Super Mario 3D World [ARDSE0]/. Essential Subfolders: Inside that folder, you must have: code/ (contains .rpx and .xml files). content/ (contains game assets). meta/ (contains icons and meta data).
Region Matching: Since the Wii U is region-locked, a USA game typically requires a USA console unless you are using region-free homebrew patches. Known Fixes & Issues
Missing XML Files: If your code/ folder is missing .xml files, Loadiine uses default values that might cause the game to crash. You can extract these from a WUD (Wii U ISO) using tools like WiiUxtractor.
Load Failure: If the game fails to appear in the Loadiine menu, ensure your SD card is formatted to FAT32.
Audio/Glitch Fixes: While modern emulators like Cemu have fixed major bugs, original hardware (Loadiine) occasionally faces read errors if the SD card speed is too low. Key Game Features
I can’t help with locating, downloading, or using copyrighted game files (ISOs) or tools to run them on consoles. That includes instructions for obtaining or loading Super Mario 3D World (Wii U) or other commercial games via LOADIINE or similar methods.
If you’d like, I can help with any of the following legal alternatives:
Which of those would you prefer?
The neon-blue "Wii U" logo faded, replaced by the sterile, white grid of the Mii Maker. Inside the console's memory, a folder labeled SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD [ARDP01] sat in digital purgatory.
Most games lived on glossy discs, spinning until they grew dizzy, but this version was a "Loadiine" rip—a loose collection of folders and meta-files scattered across a FAT32-formatted SD card. It was a rebel's way to play.
Deep in the directory, a tiny, 16-bit-style Mario sprite checked his watch. "It’s been ten minutes," he muttered, his voice a series of compressed bleeps. "Is the human still messing with the SD card lock?"
"He's trying to get the RPX file to launch," Toad replied, pacing around a pile of uncompressed textures. "If the folder structure isn't exactly SD:/wiiu/games/Super Mario 3d World [ARDP01]/code/, we’re never seeing the light of the Mushroom Kingdom."
Suddenly, the digital sky ripped open. A surge of data—the Loadiine GX2 exploit—flooded the system. The "USA" region flag flickered green.
"This is it!" Peach shouted, grabbing her parasol. "The kernel exploit worked!"
The code began to compile. The "Loading..." bar on the GamePad stretched slowly, agonizingly, as the Wii U’s limited RAM struggled to stitch the loose files into a coherent world. For a second, the screen flickered—a terrifying moment of a "black screen of death"—but then, the triumphant brass fanfare of the title theme blasted through the TV speakers.
The cat-suit power-ups materialized, the frame rate stabilized at 60fps, and the first Goomba blinked into existence. Against all odds, the Loadiine rip was alive.
Mario adjusted his cap and looked up at the invisible player behind the glass. "Took you long enough," he whispered. "Let’s-a go."
Running Super Mario 3D World (USA) via Loadiine GX2 on Wii U Prepare your Wii U console : Ensure that
Super Mario 3D World is one of the most stable and compatible titles for the Loadiine GX2 SD loader on the Nintendo Wii U. Prerequisites for Loadiine GX2
To get this working, your Wii U must be running a Homebrew environment (such as Tiramisu, Aroma, or the older Mocho/Haxchi). SD Card Format: Your SD card must be formatted to FAT32.
Loadiine GX2 App: Ensure the latest Loadiine GX2 files are in SD:/wiiu/apps/loadiine_gx2/.
Decrypted Game Files: Loadiine does not run standard .iso or .wud files directly. You must use "Loadiine-ready" files, which consist of three specific folders: code, content, and meta. Step-by-Step Configuration
Create the Directory Structure:On the root of your SD card, navigate to or create the following path:SD:/wiiu/games/.
Folder Naming Convention:Create a folder for the game inside the games directory. To ensure Loadiine recognizes it and can fetch covers, use the exact title and the 6-character Title ID: Folder Name: Super Mario 3D World [ARDU01]
Place Game Data:Move your decrypted code, content, and meta folders into this new folder. Your final path should look like this: SD:/wiiu/games/Super Mario 3D World [ARDU01]/code/ SD:/wiiu/games/Super Mario 3D World [ARDU01]/content/ SD:/wiiu/games/Super Mario 3D World [ARDU01]/meta/ Launch the Game: Insert the SD card into your Wii U. Boot into the Homebrew Launcher and open Loadiine GX2. Select Super Mario 3D World from the list.

Do not look for a straight .iso file. You need the Loadiine-ready files. These usually come in a folder named something like Super Mario 3D World [AMAP01]. (The [AMAP01] is the Title ID for the USA version).
When you download the game files, they typically come in a compressed archive (like a .zip or .rar). You will need to extract these files.
For Loadiine to recognize the game, the folder structure is critical. It usually looks like this:
SD:/wiiu/games/[GameName]/
Inside that folder, you should have the content files (code, content, and meta folders).
