The Plot
The Crime The series opens in the jungles of Sunderbans, West Bengal, where a police team led by the righteous but short-tempered DSP Barun Ghosh (Barun Sobti) is investigating a missing girl. The trail leads them to a wealthy and influential family from Manaliâthe Atwalsâwho are in Sunderbans for a destination wedding.
During the wedding festivities, a drunken and powerful patriarch, Papaji (Harsh Chhaya), shoots and kills a young dancer, Lucky, simply because she refused his demand to dance on a table.
The Witnesses The murder is witnessed by Rishi (Surya Sharma), the wedding photographer. Rishi is caught between his moral duty and his survival instinct. He captures the murder on his camera but is spotted by the family. He manages to escape into the jungle, kicking off a cat-and-mouse chase.
Simultaneously, a wedding guest named Rinku Atwal (Anchal Singh), who is the patriarch's niece, also witnesses the crime. She is engaged to a quiet man named Daman. Rinku is the "modern" face of the family but finds herself trapped by the patriarchal power structure.
The Cover-Up Papajiâs son, Tridip Atwal, takes charge of the cover-up. The family uses their immense wealth and influence to bury the evidence. They frame the murder as an accident or a suicide. The local police in Manali are on their payroll, making it impossible for Rishi to find help.
The Investigation DSP Barun Ghosh arrives in Manali to investigate the missing girl (Lucky). He suspects the Atwals immediately but faces a wall of silence. The Atwals are terrifying; they are the apex predators of the region, and everyone is too scared to speak against them.
As Ghosh digs deeper, he realizes Rishi is the key witness. However, Rishi has gone underground, terrified for his life.
The Struggle The season follows the intense pressure placed on the witnesses. Rishi is hunted through the forests and mountains, struggling to survive while holding onto the evidence (the memory card). Meanwhile, DSP Ghosh fights against the corrupt system to protect Rishi and expose the truth.
Rinku finds herself in a psychological battle. While she is part of the guilty family, she is repulsed by the crime. She acts as a wild cardâsometimes helping the cover-up to save her family, and other times showing signs of guilt and defiance against Papiji's tyrannical rule.
