Vmix 27 May 2026

This is a deep-dive report on vMix 27, the latest major release of the popular live production and streaming software by StudioCoast.

2.2 The New "Audio Bus Matrix" (Pro Audio Unleashed)

Version 26 introduced audio improvements, but vMix 27 refines the bus system. You now have eight master audio busses (A through H). The new matrix view allows you to route any input to any bus with a single click, create pre-fade listens (PFLs) for headphones, and apply latency compensation to audio sources that are out of sync with video cameras. vmix 27

4. Performance & Stability (The "Boring" but Best Part)

  • AMD GPU Encoders: vMix finally adds native hardware encoding for AMD GPUs (AMF). AMD users no longer have to rely solely on CPU or slower software encoding.
  • NVENC Updates: Updated to the latest SDK, offering better efficiency and quality at lower bitrates for RTX 40-series owners.
  • Instant Replay Rewrite: The Instant Replay module is snappier, uses less RAM, and now supports exporting clips in more formats (including ProRes).

3. Audio Overhaul (The "Audio Insider")

Audio has always been vMix’s weak spot compared to hardware mixers. vMix 27 fixes many complaints. This is a deep-dive report on vMix 27

  • Expanded Audio Buses: Increased from 8 to 16 master audio buses. This is huge for complex shows with multiple IFB feeds, record mixes, stream mixes, and room fills.
  • Pre-Fader Listen (PFL): Finally! You can now solo a channel to headphones without affecting the master broadcast mix. A basic feature that pros have been waiting for.
  • Audio Follows Video Improvements: Much more reliable and customizable logic for routing audio based on which input is live.

2. PTZ Controls & Automation

  • Dedicated PTZ Tab – Centralized control of pan, tilt, zoom, focus, and presets for all supported PTZ cameras (Sony VISCA, Panasonic, BirdDog, NDI PTZ, etc.).
  • PTZ Preset Animations – Smooth transitions between presets with adjustable speed.
  • Auto Tracking (Beta) – Object/person tracking with compatible PTZ cameras.

2.5 vMix Social 2.0
