Download: Get the latest version from the Hauppauge Support Page.

Run Setup: Open the wintv10setup file. It will install necessary drivers and remove older WinTV versions.

Enter Code: Halfway through, an "Activation required" screen will appear. Click Enter Activation code and type your key.

Note: You do not need to include dashes, and the code is not case-sensitive.

Lost Your Activation Code? Here’s What to Do

Losing the physical card is common. Fortunately, Hauppauge provides a recovery process:

  1. Check your Hauppauge account – If you registered your product, log in at hauppauge.com. Your activation codes are stored under “My Registered Products.”
  2. Contact Hauppauge Support – Provide proof of purchase (receipt or photo of the product’s serial number). They can resend your code. Response times vary from 24–72 hours.
  3. Use the “Find My Code” tool – Some newer Hauppauge drivers include a utility called “License Manager” that can retrieve the code directly from the tuner’s firmware if bundled at the factory.

Where to Find Your Legitimate WinTV 10 Activation Code

If you bought a new Hauppauge product (e.g., WinTV-dualHD, WinTV-quadHD, or USB-Live2), the activation code is usually located in one of two places:

  1. On a printed card inside the retail box – Look for a small card labeled “WinTV 10 Activation Code” or “License Key.” It will be a 5-part alphanumeric string.
  2. In your email receipt – If you purchased a digital download or a bundle that included WinTV 10, the code is sent to the email address used at checkout.

Important: Hauppauge no longer prints activation codes on the CD sleeve or inside the manual. If you’ve thrown away the box, check carefully—many users accidentally discard the small card.
