Subject: Question regarding Xentry Ignition Enabler (Top Position)
Body: Hi everyone,
I’m currently setting up my diagnostic environment and I’m a bit confused regarding the functionality of the Xentry Ignition Enabler, specifically the "Top" position on the switch.
I understand the general purpose of the enabler for handling the ZGW (Central Gateway) on newer W204/W207/W212 models, but I haven't found clear documentation on what the specific "Top" vs "Bottom" positions actually control in terms of pin bridging. xentry ignition enabler top
Could someone clarify:
- Is the "Top" position specifically for the 12V ignition feed bridging?
- Does this setting vary depending on whether I am using a C3 (RS232) or a C4 (LAN) multiplexer?
I’m trying to avoid frying the ZGW by sending voltage where it shouldn't go. Any advice from someone who has used this specific enabler would be greatly appreciated. Option 1: Technical Discussion / Forum Post Use
Thanks in advance!
2. Vediamo & DTS Monaco Compatibility
Professional tuners and coders use Vediamo or DTS Monaco for deep-level coding (changing VINs, enabling factory options like Distronic or CarPlay). The Top enabler unlocks the communication protocols (CBF/CDI files) that these heavy-duty tools need to flash or write data to ECUs. Is the "Top" position specifically for the 12V
5. Support for All Hardware (C4, C5, C6, Openport)
Whether you are using a Chinese clone SD Connect C4, the newer C5, the VCI (C6), or a simple Tactrix Openport 2.0, the Xentry Ignition Enabler Top works via DoIP (Diagnostic over IP) and standard J2534 passthru protocols.
Step 1: Hardware Preparation
- Device: Xentry Ignition Enabler Top (USB or WiFi version).
- Laptop: Windows 10/11 Pro (64-bit), 16GB RAM minimum, SSD drive.
- Software: Xentry OpenShell 2024/2025, Vediamo 5.0, or DTS Monaco 8.16.
- Cables: OBD2 to Ethernet (for DoIP) or OBD2 to USB-C.
2. Retrofitting High-End Features
- Distronic (Radar Cruise): Requires enabling the radar sensor and coding the instrument cluster.
- Burmester Sound System: Activating the MOST bus ring and amplifier coding.
- Comand Online Navigation: Unlocking regions without a developer account.
