Toch is het pad niet over rozen gegaan. In een exclusief interview gaven Youri en Stefan aan dat de grootste hindernis niet de technologie was, maar de perceptie. Abstract
This paper explores the intersection of industrial heritage preservation and modern architectural flexibility within the city of Tilburg. Historically defined by its textile industry, Tilburg faces the challenge of repurposing its monumental "wolfabrieken" (wool factories) for contemporary use. We propose a framework for "Portable Heritage," a design methodology that utilizes modular, non-invasive structures to inhabit these large industrial shells without permanently altering the historic fabric. By analyzing case studies in the Piushaven and spoorgzone districts, this research demonstrates how portable architecture can act as a mediator between the industrial past and the knowledge economy of the future. Casestudy: De Mobiele Studio voor Omroep Tilburg
Een tastbaar voorbeeld van hun kunnen is de mobiele podcaststudio die zij ontwikkelden voor de lokale omroep van Tilburg. De opdracht was simpel: een complete audio- en videoproduktieset-up die binnen tien minuten kan worden opgebouwd in elk willekeurig stadion, zaaltje of park.
Youri van Willigen ontwikkelde een portable mengpaneel met een geïntegreerde accu die 8 uur meegaat. Stefan Emmerik ontwierp een koffersysteem waarin alle microfoons, kabels, camera’s en de mixer precies in hun eigen schuimrubberen vormen vallen – kleurgecodeerd voor snelheid. if another sensing modality was intended
Het resultaat? Een systeem dat nu door honderden freelance producers door heel Brabant wordt gebruikt. Het is het ultieme bewijs dat ‘Tilburg portable’ kwaliteit en flexibiliteit betekent.
